OSD

Worcester, MA. July 30th, 2008 –Dee “Sole Proprietor” Wells and Sean “Paper Chasr” Williams of OSD (Obsessive Sneaker Disorder) create 2 video channels dedicated to the world of sneakers”.

The athletic footwear industry has undoubtedly reached new heights today as Dee “Sole Proprietor” Wells and Sean “Paper Chasr” Williams once again make history with the creation of 2 video channels that will show programming based on nothing but...(You guessed it) sneakers.

After the creation of the wildly popular live podcast OSD-Obsessive Sneaker Disorder, both Dee and Sean have been steadily plotting a way to take the OSD brand to the next level as the show approaches it’s 1 year anniversary on talkshoe.com. To that end, Dee and Sean have created OSD / OSD2 which will be powered by groundbreaking live broadcast video network Mogulus. Both channels will feature all sneaker related video and commercials but in two different yet related ways. “Why search all over for sneaker videos when you can go to a channel that will show them all day every day? Our goal is to be the go to source for all sneaker related news and video”, says Paper Chasr. “OSD is basically like MTV for the sneaker world. The programming will have footage from events and campouts, as well as other news stories and videos that are created daily by OSD sufferers all over the world. OSD2 will feature only music videos and films made for sneakers, and at times some classic footwear commercials that we all miss”, added Sole Proprietor. Both channels will also feature the option of live chat with other viewers who are watching simultaneously.

The channels will launch at the stroke of midnight on July 31st right after the OSD’s live podcast on Wednesday July 30th. The channels will run 24/7/365 just as regular television channels operate. Sneaker lovers all over the world are being urged to submit high quality videos no longer than 3 ½ minutes to Dee and Sean at the following email addresses: obsessivesnesneakerdisorder@gmail.com and paperchasr@gmail.com

Both channels can be watched at the following website URLs: www.mogulus.com/osd and www.mogulus.com/wosd2

Where's Reggie Noble been

Check out Redman's new whip - Smart Car

I'm beginning to see more and more of these on the streets of NY. Europeans have always had these the past years and now its beginning to hit the states hard especially in the metropolitan area. Talk about taking advantage of parking spaces and saving lots of gas.

What is so Cool about Cuil?

So I see that Google has a new competitor now but has no threat that people have said.

The search engine Cuil launched this Monday and their servers crashed due to an overload of traffic.
Anna Patterson is the president of Cuil and was the architect of Google's large search index TeraGoogle which launched in early '06. They generated so much of a buzz that they were able to get $33M in financing.

Cuil instead of ranking searches based on popularity, it focuses on the content of each page.

Try it out and see for yourself.

I'm on Non-Format's Dilznick....

I first learned of this design firm last year when they came out with this crazy graphic for Lebron James. Since then, I've been following them closely. As far as working with typography, these guys just get it. Letter forms and all that. You've probably seen some of their other work for Nike, Coke and The Fader Magazine. Check'm out when you get a chance....

So long Cassette Tapes

Cassette tapes have now vanished 100 % from view. They are rare to find but I still got my box of cassettes laying around. The New York Times yesterday did an article on the funeral of Cassettes at the offices of Hachette and how fast the technology has disappeared.

The Cassette tapes lasted only a few years, and those of us who were brought up on cassettes like myself, staying up during the weeknights trying to catch the Stretch and Bobbito show on WKCR NY 89.9 FM and recording their sets. Now these tapes are just storage fillers but I'm still listening to tapes. I think regardless of everyone going digital, I have a ton of tapes just filled with no labels and going through them is just a matter of time to discover whats in the tapes and I think that is what makes me want to go back into tapes. They definitely have a unique crisp sound.

We all have now spent a ton of money converting to digital through the years, the music industries are getting hit.

CDs are also rapidly disappearing from view with the mp3's and different formats that it has offered, along with the internet music stores. Even look at the music industry for DJ's, from vinyl to mp3's with technology like Serato that really makes it easier for the DJ to play music when they travel but is that the way to go? Apparently a lot of the DJ's are moving toward this movement.

Record shops are closing by the day, due to lack of funding, and in 15-20 years, something new will come to replace downloading.

Let me know what your thoughts on this. Whats next, DVD's are going to be probably compressed to some format similar to how CD's have gone to Mp3's.

The year 2012 the Internet dies?

A conspiracy theory?

Whats your take on this:

Bell Canada and TELUS (formerly owned by Verizon) employees officially confirm that by 2012 ISP's all over the globe will reduce Internet access to a TV-like subscription model, only offering access to a small standard amount of commercial sites and require extra fees for every other site you visit. These 'other' sites would then lose all their exposure and eventually shut down, resulting in what could be seen as the end of the Internet.

Dylan Pattyn *, who is currently writing an article for Time Magazine on the issue, has official confirmation from sources within Bell Canada and is interviewing a marketing representative from TELUS who confirms the story and states that TELUS has already started blocking all websites that aren't in the subscription package for mobile Internet access. They could not confirm whether it would happen in 2012 because both stated it may actually happen sooner (as early as 2010). Interviews with these sources, more confirmation from other sources and more in-depth information on the issue is set to be published in Time Magazine soon.

Google has started a project so that you can test whether you're being throttled, reaffirming it again as the best company ever.

R.I.P. Randy Pausch

Today Randy Pausch died from pancreatic cancer at his family's home in Chesapeake, Virginia, having moved there so that his wife and children would be near family after his death. He was an inspiration to me and millions of others when I watched him on youtube when he gave his "last lecture" to the world.

His wife Jai, and their three children, Dylan, Logan and Chloe would like donations to be taken at the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network

Address:
Pancreatic Cancer Action Network

Golden Shellback

Golden Shellback Waterproof Coating

My home girl Killah Karin from Illadel sent this to me and I thought I should share this.

Could this revolutionize water cooling or is the coating susceptible to thermal damage? Well it looks like Golden Shellback

This company is provides a unique coating that protects critical operational equipment against damage and loss of function caused by exposure to weather and moisture. It is ideal for application in the electronics industry.

So hoow does the headphone jack work then? The SIM card slot on the iPhone? The dock connector? These are things that kinda sorta need electrical conductivity to function. There's some spurious doublespeak going on here, so I'd really like to know more about how this works. I'm guessing that the coating must be so thin that as you push in your headphone plug, dock connector and sim card you scrape away just enough of the coating for contact to be made. Either that or they made the demonstration video using ethanol or distilled water.

Check out the Iphone demonstration.

Keeping the struggle alive - Grass Roots

ORCHID ISLAND, Taiwan (AP)

Trying to keep the Culture of the Tao aborigines of Taiwan's Orchid Island on these 23 ft. boats. The boat somehow is fasten by these wooden planks from different types of trees on the island and not having 1 single nail or bolt to keep it in place. Talking about keeping it OG.

The struggle lives on as the Tao tribesmen try to keep the tradition alive since most of the men have been moving toward city life in Taiwan and its becoming more difficult to teach the children.

It gets harder and harder these days on keeping traditions alive.

Reflections upon the thirties

The truth as you age.

There are the myths and there are realities:

The Myth
  1. Youth officially ends
  2. Fewer wilder nights out in the town
  3. Still 25 at heart
  4. you can hold you liquor much better
  5. Better control of your finances
The Reality
  1. Denial officially begins
  2. Check out my new home ent. center fellas
  3. Still 25 on the internet
  4. What a lie!
  5. Can I say late charges really do add up

We are living in extremely hectic days, but probably everyone in history thinks that.
I just get a sense our culture saps rather than inspires, and when we see tawdriness around us, we're immune to its erosive or corrosive effects.

It is always interesting to understand, at least, now those who came before us behaved and decided, sure, recognizing our times are way different. I realized that I was very naive and didn't know shit in my 20's and now I've hit the thirty and have learned quite a lot about myself and the people closest to me.

I have realized that more and more as I age that we don't appreciate as much as we should with the simple things in life, but whats simple? Well that's something we all need to define in our own.

Am I now on the inevitable downslope towards oblivion? Hell no, its just the beginning and an old wise man once told me - "You gotta do you regardless of whats going on in your life. You need to make time for yourself to reflect upon and make sure you are taking the right path."

Meet Meebo

Check out Meebo if you get a chance.

If you haven't seen meebo before, I think you should take a look. It allows you to sign on Instant Messenger interfaces on a single screen, NO DOWNLOAD needed.

Another great feature is that you can create a meebo account and create an embedded chat file, this allows you to add it to your websites and blogs.

You can even send messages while you are not online and you'll get them as soon as you sign on. I think this could be an easy / fun way to communicate and keep in touch.

Lets meebo!

3G

So I got sucked in thanks to Mike and Alex . Went to the AT&T store when the 3G came out and voila, it was love at first site.

So I was able to get it over the weekend and have been messing around with the applications and features.

I can see why the hype caught on and lines still going on throughout the city.

Amazing what Apple has done with the marketing. I finally gave in folks.

The Pros:
1. Push email improved, easy to add your gmail, just like the crackberry.
2. Ipod/Itunes combo is great, don't need an ipod no more.
3. The calling quality got a lot better from the 1st Gen.
4. Decent quality of video along with having youtube in the applications area very easy to get to.
5. By far best browsing & navigation for any phone that I know of in the market.
6 you can log on to the apple store, which gives you access to a gigantic library of third-party applications to add features such as controlling your iTunes, instant messaging, 3D gaming and To Do lists
7. Picks up wifi very fast when you enter a wife network - old iPhone's connection died at 100 ft. and the newer one lasted to about 120 ft.
8. Price and availability are pretty good compared to the first Iphone and if you have a different service provider like me, you're able to keep your number and I had Verizon and they just ported the number over to AT & T which took minutes.
9. transferring my contacts was painless as long as you have Microsoft Outlook
10. headphone jack, lock, and volume buttons are very easy to locate along with no dock, just a cable which I like

The Cons:
1. no cut & paste
2. phone camera quality didn't improve much, 2MP shooter which returns 1600 x 1200 pixels, I would still need to bring my Canon G9 around with me.
3. for all you gamers - Apple may not support the cool (illegal) apps like the NES emulators and video recording programs as of YET
4. text messaging costs $.20/text if you do not have a plan
5. reduced battery life (battery stinks, need to charge once a day especially if you are using all the applications)
6. no video or video capture for 3G, which means countless youtube moments.
7. no MMS
8. use of the phone as a hard drive just like the ipods.
9. doesn't support true streaming natively
10. doesn't play FLASH - so you can't port/expose existing flash players in the Browser(you need native plug-in streaming support or Flash.)
11. The lack of multitasking support is a bigger limiting factor than what appears on the surface for the iPhone. Particularly for social music and discovery applications.

To get a full report about it, you can go here:

For all you Star Wars jedis, I suggest you get the Phone i-Saber - Jedi Training

Wanna bathe in Chocolate, Coffee, Tea, or Wine

Well in Japan it is a norm. There's a tradition in communal bathing in Japan has updated the Yunessun Spa near Tokyo, with a variety of unusual elements added right into the water, like rice wine, coffee bar, & chocolate bar, which is good for your health like loosing weight and anti-aging.

Did I write that correctly?!?

It is being displayed at the San Jose Art Museum in California since April, part of the museum’s “Robots: Evolution of a Cultural Icon” exhibit that runs through Oct. 19.

T3 Motion vs. Segway

This is one of the T3 Motions that we have in Hoboken, NJ which the Police Department uses sometimes to direct traffic for certain occassions.
It reaches speed up to 25 m.p.h. and designed with the input of law enforcement.
T3 Series feature a zero-degree turning radius and compact design-perfect for maneuvering through crowds and tight spaces.

The quiet environmentally-friendly zero gas emission vehicles include an integrated LED lighting system and an incomparable low cost of operation running for less than $.10 cents/day and never requiring any down time due to the T3's two re-chargeable, lightweight batteries.

But it looks like China's SWAT team using Segway? that they are using overseas. A counter-terrorist exercise known as "Taishan 2008," took place for this shot in Jinan, Shandong Province, China. They were training probably for the 2008 Olympics which starts August 8, 2008.

I really can't see them using the Segway but imagine if they had the Motorcyle Mojo that would be interesting but of course not environmental friendly.
